Process Considerations: Metal Forming is the process by which metal is manipulated to create a new shape. Auto body panels, office furniture, nuts, bolts, and crankshafts are some examples of metal-formed products. Processes used for metal forming include stamping, drawing, heading, forging, and press forming. Houghton supplies products for all of these operations. Products for ferrous (steel) and non-ferrous working are available.

Straight oils are not water extendable, although they can be cut with other oils. Soluble oils, Semi-Synthetics, and Synthetics are all water-extendable products, which provide excellent cooling, and superior cleanability over straight oil products wherever they can be used.
