Mission:
Houghton International Supplier Diversity Mission is to support diversity development and identify certified small and diverse businesses while encouraging minority business owners to partake in procuring raw materials and services.
Houghton International recognizes that as a corporation, we should strive to obtain high quality goods and services from a diverse base of suppliers. Houghton International widely uses the services of Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) to further develop the Supplier Diversity Program, which will encourage and promote further growth to achieve long term objectives for minority owned businesses.
Houghton International and Houghton FluidCare define a minority and woman owned business a sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation of which a minimum of 51% is owned by minority persons. In the case of a proprietorship, the minority owners must be engaged in the daily management, control and operation of the business concern. In the case of a corporation, the minority stockholders must be in control of the management and daily business operations, while the majority of the Board of Directors must be minority group members.
Certification Criteria
Prospective suppliers must be certified as a minority or woman-owned business by one of the following councils in order to do business under our Supplier Diversity Program. Small disadvantaged and HUB Zone businesses must provide proper certification.

The NMSDC provides increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.
