Houghton International Americas Achieves Latest ISO 9001 Certification (9001:2015)

Valley Forge, PA – August 13, 2018 –

Houghton International Americas has achieved certification to the latest revision of the ISO 9001 quality management standard, ISO 9001:2015. To achieve this milestone, a full system audit of the company’s Valley Forge headquarters and laboratory, as well as the company’s office and manufacturing locations in Detroit, Michigan, Carrollton, Georgia, Harrow, Canada, Strongsville, Ohio and São Paulo, Brazil was conducted.

The ISO 9001 standard defines best practices of a quality management system for the design, manufacturing, installation and services provided by an organization. Following more than three years of revision work by experts from nearly 95 participating and observing countries, the International Standards Organization released the 2015 revision in September 2015. With the new requirements there is a strengthened emphasis on leadership and management commitment, including actively engaging and taking accountability for the effectiveness of the management systems. There is also a focus on objectives as drivers for improvement and to measure, monitor and analyze performance. In addition there is an emphasis on risk-based thinking to enhance the application of the process approach.

This is critical in how Houghton serves our customers and we are excited that our focus was validated through the approval of the ISO 9001:2015 revision in both North and South America,” said Dr. Dave Slinkman, Houghton’s Senior Vice President Global Research and Technology.
